About Hope Children's Home
Hope Children's Home, a nonprofit organization that rescues children from infancy to 18 years old, has been in operation since 1968. Throughout that time, the organization has been committed to helping kids through its services, care, and Christian education. In doing so, Hope Children's Home gives kids the gift of faith in God while helping them grow into productive adults.
The nonprofit organization is led by Dr. Mike and Chris Higgins. Both individuals were honored by the Tampa Bay Lightning in 2016 for their contributions to the community. The honor came with a $50,000 donation from the Lightning Foundation, which the Higgins chose to donate to Hope Children's Home..
Beyond their work at the home, Dr. and Mrs. Higgins created the Cottages of Hope Project. The cottages are located on 8 acres of the nonprofit’s 55 acre main campus in Tampa, Florida, alongside dormitories for boys and girls as well as an accredited Christian school.
Each cottage on the campus is designed to provide care to the organization’s youngest residents and allow siblings to live together. The cottages also provide residents with a nurturing family setting. Please visit www.hopechildrenshome.org for more information.
